About John McNair & Associates, Realtors

John McNair & Associates, Realtors is a unique real estate brokerage in the South Texas and San Antonio area. Managing broker John McNair is a 6th generation area resident with a penchant for residential design and furnishings. John started the agency as a way to combine two of the most stressful tasks in moving – buying and decorating a new home.

John is a skilled negotiator, marketer and communicator proficient in dealing with complex transactions, real estate tax strategies and investment portfolios. Clients of the agency receive exclusive access to a wide range of home products suppliers with exceptional discounts – ranging from chandelier manufacturers, furniture distributors, landscape plant suppliers and more. In addition, our clients also gain access to John’s extensive contacts in real estate finance, law, accounting and other related service providers.

Aside from being Founder and Principal at John McNair & Associates, John is a member of the Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI), holds the Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist designation (CLHMS) and the Certified Home Marketing Specialist (CHMS) designation. He is a member of The San Antonio Board of Realtors, Uvalde Board of Realtors, Texas Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors, and the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing.

John is an experienced landman and has been Director at Hill Country Wind Power (HCWP), a utility scale wind power developer, since the company’s inception. While at HCWP, John oversaw the leasing and real estate for several wind farm development projects totaling over one hundred thousand acres; most recently the 419 megawatt Mesquite Star Wind Farm near Sweetwater, TX developed through a partnership between Clearway Energy Group (NYSE: CWEN) and HCWP.

An Eagle Scout with a passion for outdoor and wildlife stewardship, John has been active in land and water conservation efforts throughout the Texas Hill Country, most notably as a landowner participant for the City of San Antonio Edwards Aquifer Protection Program. John is a recipient of the Texas Department of Agriculture Family Land Heritage Award and oversees his family ranch in northeast Uvalde County near the Frio River.
